I changed out the light fixture and installed a non - Coast Guard approved LED anchor light bulb.  It's brighter than the Coast Guard approved incandescent bulb but, because it has no official approval, I purchased it for $20.  It is controlled by a photo sensor that turns it on at night and off during the day (I'm prone to forgetting).  Being an LED it uses virtually no electricity.

The only other lights that I changed the bulbs to LED's were the interior reading lights and the head.  These are OK but leave a little to be desired.  The reading lights are very bright but, because they have such a narrow beam, you have to hold your book within the confines of the beam.  Works, but is not ideal.  The multiple LED light in the head is bright enough to see by, but the ladies would be pissed trying to put makeup on by it.  All lights were purchased through www.autolumination.com
